Using a variety of materials and mediums, artist Diane Dunwoodie has created a series of thought provoking artworks to inspire discussion about guns in America. She addresses current issues such as suicides with a 10’ x 15’ embellished quilt and the 2nd Amendment with a 5’ x 9’ encaustic American flag. Included in the series are eight other large scale pieces/installations focusing on issues pertinent to the debate around gun legislation. This series of mixed media artworks called “Up In Arms” is a detour from Dunwoodie’s most recent abstract expressionist paintings. In an earlier career, she owned and operated a ceramic manufacturing company designing dinnerware for retail sales across the country.
